Editorial policy
This policy explains how Mzansi Hub decides what to publish, where our facts come from and how our editorial ratings are built. We aim to be useful, warm and accurate, and to be honest about the fact that we earn commissions.
Which supplements and lenders do we include?
We list only offers that we can check through the affiliate programmes we work with. If a seller or lender is not available to us through a programme, or we cannot confirm basic facts about the offer, it does not appear on the site.
Inclusion means that an offer is available and that we have enough confirmed information to describe it properly. It is not a promise about any individual result, and we do not claim to have tested a product ourselves.
Where do our facts come from?
For supplements, we use what is printed on the pack and what the seller states in its product description: the format, the capsule count where it is shown, the ingredients the seller names and the purpose of the formula. Where the full list or the amounts are printed on the pack, we say so instead of guessing.
For lenders, we use the details on the provider’s offer card, such as loan amount, term and eligibility, and we word provider claims as the provider’s own statements. For general health and credit guidance we rely on recognised public sources and list them at the bottom of the page where they are used.
We do not invent composition, amounts, certificates, studies, prices or delivery promises. When something is not known to us, we leave it out or point the reader to the pack or the adviser.
How does the editorial rating work?
Every supplement page shows an editorial rating. It is the average of five criteria, and each criterion is scored out of 5 on the same scale as the final figure. The criteria cover things such as how clearly the formula is described, how easy the capsules are to use every day, the pack and format, value for the pack and how convenient the order is.
The rating reflects the information and the ordering experience as we can describe them. It is our editorial view, and it is not an average of customer scores. We label it clearly as an editorial rating wherever it appears.
- Five criteria, each out of 5
- The final figure is the average of the five
- A criterion is never lowered because a detail is not published; a gap in publication is not a fault in a product
- Customer opinions are shown separately and are not merged into our rating
How are customer opinions shown?
Customer opinions appear in their own block on each product page, apart from the editorial rating. They describe everyday experience: how simple the order was, how the capsules fit into a routine, the delivery call and the pack.
We keep opinions short and about ordinary experience. We do not publish personal health numbers or outcomes in them, because those belong in a conversation with your GP.
Do you give medical or financial advice?
No. Supplement pages describe food supplements and what they are formulated to support. They never replace medical care, and we encourage readers to talk to a GP or pharmacist before starting something new, particularly when taking prescribed medicine.
Loan pages describe offers and explain how to compare and check them. They are general information about borrowing, not advice about your personal finances. The lender assesses affordability, and you should only borrow what you can repay.
Are you independent of sellers and lenders?
Sellers and lenders do not write or approve our pages, and they do not choose our wording or our ratings. We do earn commissions through affiliate programmes, and we say so on every page where it matters.
Independence in this sense means editorial control: the Mzansi Hub editorial team decides what is published and how it is explained. It does not mean that we are free of commercial relationships, and we would rather say that plainly.
How do we handle corrections and updates?
If you spot a mistake, write to contact@southafricaloans.co.za with the page address and what you think should change. We read every message, check the point against the pack, the provider’s description or the public source, and correct the page when the correction is confirmed.
We review pages when an offer changes, when a pack or description is updated and when new guidance is published by the bodies we cite. Each page's technical dates are kept accurate in its structured data.
Frequently asked questions
Do sellers or lenders pay to be rated higher?
No. Ratings are produced by our editorial team from five criteria, each scored out of 5. Commissions exist, but they are not a rating input.
Have you tested these supplements yourselves?
We describe supplements from the pack and the seller’s product description. We do not claim personal testing, and we do not publish personal results.
